A personal commitment from F. Jay Hall
Our Purpose and My Promise
Behind every job posting is work that matters. Behind every application is a person hoping to do it. We have a responsibility to both.
Arnie Miller helped me understand that responsibility. As one of the founding partners of Isaacson, Miller, he taught me to see recruitment as a way of serving the civic infrastructure. The task was to understand what an organization needed to accomplish, why it mattered, and who could help move it forward.
That lesson has guided my career. I miss Arnie, and I carry his influence into what I build. I dedicate GRC Careers, and the work I carry forward across our platforms, to him and to the others who taught me to put the people we serve at the center of our decisions.
Built from the work. Built for the people doing it.
I built ExecSearches.com with executive search professionals in mind because I knew the work firsthand. I know what it takes to understand a client, earn a candidate’s trust, and keep a search moving when the answers are complicated. I also know how much time recruiters spend working around tools that should be helping them.
We are stepping away from conducting executive searches ourselves and concentrating on supporting recruiters and employers through our job boards, career resources, and practical tools. I want to put what we have learned into products that make your work easier and help you make informed decisions.
The same commitment shapes GRCcareers.org. As artificial intelligence changes organizations, people are being asked to take on new responsibilities in governance, risk, compliance, privacy, and oversight. Professionals deserve clear information about those responsibilities and practical ways to prepare. Employers deserve resources that help them understand whom they need to hire and what that person will need to do.
Different fields. A shared responsibility.
A community nonprofit, a public institution, a scientific research organization, and a global company may operate at very different scales. Each depends on people who can exercise judgment, accept responsibility, and do the work well. The consequences reach beyond the organization itself.
That is the connection between ExecSearches.com, Nonprofit-Jobs.org, and GRCcareers.org. We help organizations reach people who can carry their work forward, and we help people prepare to contribute. Whether someone is leading a nonprofit or helping establish safeguards for AI, their work deserves thoughtful support.
Preparation should be within reach.
We are building resources to help people understand career paths, develop job descriptions, prepare for interviews, and make better hiring decisions. Free learning and career tools are central to that effort. Someone ready to learn should have a useful place to begin. A recruiter facing a difficult assignment should have practical help close at hand.
You should not have to guess which of our sites to use. The free material is split by the work you do, not by which brand you happened to land on.

You do not need an account for any of it. We charge for job postings and for a few services such as resume review. We do not charge a person to find out what a job is or how to prepare for it.
I want these products to earn a place in your working day. They should help you move forward, save you time, or give you a clearer understanding of what to do next. You should be able to tell us when they fall short and expect us to listen.
Your experience is part of the work.
We are still building. Some parts are ready, and others are taking shape. We owe you honest communication about that progress and attention to the experience you have using what we create.
If something is confusing, tell me. If a resource misses what you need, tell me. If you have a complaint, I want to understand it. My years in recruitment help me decide what to build. Your experience helps us understand whether we have built it well.
I want to build a business that people return to because it helps them do meaningful work. A business that listens, improves, and takes responsibility when something needs to be made right.
That is what serving the civic infrastructure means to me today. It is the lesson I carry from Arnie, and the commitment I bring to what comes next.

How to reach me
Not an assistant, not a form queue. Me.
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: https://nonprofit-jobs.org/contact-us
- Chat with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fjayhall-recruiter/
- Follow GRC Careers on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/grc-careers-llc
A word about that last one, because I do not want to oversell it. LinkedIn’s chat is not private and I am not going to pretend otherwise. I use it because it is where you already are and it is the easiest way for you to get to me today. I have no complaint about LinkedIn. It has given me fewer problems than the alternatives, and it is how I reach most of the people I want to reach.
It is not where this ends. Confidentiality matters in this work, and a recruiting conversation belongs on a system we control rather than on somebody else’s. We will build our own. We have not built it yet. When we do, that is where these conversations will move, and I will tell you when it is ready.
Questions about our direction
What connects the three platforms?
ExecSearches.com carries nonprofit executive and senior leadership roles. Nonprofit-Jobs.org carries nonprofit openings more broadly. GRCcareers.org carries governance, risk, compliance, privacy and AI oversight roles, along with free career resources. Three audiences, one mission, and an employer can reach all three from one posting.
Will ExecSearches continue conducting executive searches?
No. We have stopped. That matters to the search firms and the employers who post with us, because it means we are never bidding against you for an assignment and never recruiting the candidate you are working. Our side of the business is the board and the tools, not the search.
Are free resources part of the mission?
Yes, and not as a sample. Which site you want depends on the work you do, and both are free. Nonprofit professionals should start at https://nonprofit-jobs.org/ for Career Intelligence, the AI career assistant, plus the job description builder, the salary and demand map, Beyond Resume, the RFP work hub and the state career guides. If your work is governance, risk, compliance or privacy, start at https://grccareers.org/ for the career guides, the job description templates, the certification quiz, the free practice questions and the Certification Academy. The founder statement lists every one of them with its direct address. You do not need an account for any of it.
What should I do if a paid service falls short?
Write to me at [email protected], or use the contact form at https://nonprofit-jobs.org/contact-us. Tell me which posting or invoice it was and what fell short. You do not have to argue for it, and there is no window to beat. Your money goes back either way. I will still want to hear what happened, because that is how the next version gets better.
