Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary, execution-driven Chief AI Officer (CAIO) to define, drive, and govern our organization’s enterprise-wide artificial intelligence strategy. Sitting at the critical intersection of business innovation, technology infrastructure, and ethical risk management, the CAIO will lead our AI transformation while ensuring strict compliance with emerging global regulations. The ideal candidate is a cross-functional leader capable of turning AI promise into safe, scalable, and high-ROI commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise AI Strategy & Vision: Architect and execute a multi-year corporate AI roadmap tied to core business objectives (revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience).
  • AI Governance & Compliance Leadership: Establish and champion the company’s internal AI governance policies, review boards, and validation workflows. Ensure total alignment with global regulatory frameworks including the EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), and localized data privacy legislation (GDPR/CCPA).
  • Responsible AI & Ethics Management: operationalize FATE principles (Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Explainability) across all deployed models. Set strict standards for bias testing, data lineage documentation, and risk tiering.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the strategic bridge between technical teams (data science, MLOps, product) and corporate oversight functions (Legal, Risk, Privacy, and Security). Collaborate with the CIO, CTO, and CDO to optimize technology stacks and data pipelines.
  • Vendor & Platform Evaluation: Manage enterprise-level AI tool procurement and foundation model licensing agreements. Conduct rigorous vendor risk assessments to mitigate third-party data leaks, shadow AI use, and intellectual property liabilities.
  • Culture, Literacy, & Change Management: Design and deploy internal AI playbooks to upskill workforce capabilities and foster an AI-literate corporate culture.
  • Board & External Representation: Act as the primary spokesperson for the company’s AI capabilities and ethics to the Board of Directors, key investors, and public regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 10+ years of executive leadership experience spanning advanced technology implementation, enterprise data governance, or tech-policy infrastructure.
  • Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of machine learning lifecycles, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and MLOps workflows.
  • Framework Mastery: Proven track record implementing formal compliance mechanisms like ISO/IEC 42001 (Artificial Intelligence Management System), NIST AI 600-1, or the EU AI Act.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen: Strong financial literacy with a history of managing multi-million dollar technology budgets and proving measurable ROI on complex technical deployments.
  • Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Technology Policy, Business Administration (MBA), or a closely related field.

  • IAPP Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP)
